nabepi	11:31p	Proud to be an American I decided to road trip with friends this past weekend up to our Nation's Capital. I wanted to see my good friend and Brother MechaSteve who lives in Fredericksburg, I wanted to see the National Museum of the Marine Corps and I wanted to spend time in the Capital on the Fourth of July. The trip up was surprisingly fast, though we didn't really stop to have any side adventures. We got there Friday evening and had dinner in Fredericksburg. We woke up the next morning and headed to the NMMC and got there at 1000. The tour guide, a Marine Corps Sergeant Major was awesome and took us through some very nice exhibits. My favorite part of the tour was when he asked me where I was stationed. I politely and graciously explained that I wasn't a Marine yet but hoped to be after next summer. He said he worked at The Basic School which is where I'll be going after becoming an officer. My second favorite part was getting to meet an actual survivor of the Battle of Iwo Jima. My god. I can't even explain how incredible the experience was. The whole thing. I won't try here. It was powerful though. The Capital was equally awesome. We got in around 1500 or so and dicked around in the Smithsonian for a while. Had some drinks at a bar called the Hawk and Dove and then went out onto the Mall to watch the show. There is nothing finer than being drunk and smoking a celebratory cigar on the National Mall on the Fourth of July and singing patriotic songs with your patriotic friends. I will go again next year, if I'm on Liberty. (1 Comment |Comment on this)
hmmzies	11:02a	Busy week Tomorrow Today I work(12-6:30), on Monday I have jury duty but if that doesn't happen I'm going to work(10-2). On Tuesday I plan to follow Abby to school and claim to be auditing it and she's really excited by it(I thought it was just a stupid idea of mine). On Wednesday I work(10-2) and then I was going to have a hump day party but instead I won VIP tickets to a night club for some awesome electronica. Hump Day party is pushed back a week if I can get enough people to want to come. Then I have Thursday off but I usually go to 80's night at the Masquerade. If I wasn't able to follow Abby to school on Tuesday I plan on doing it Thursday(if she's still up to it). I work Friday(10-2) but I'm gonna try to switch shifts with my coworker who is working 5-9:30 so I can get some rest after 80's night. And I work on Saturday too(10-4). My shifts kinda suck, I don't really like working morning shifts and it being a long drive and only 4 hour shifts it sucks for my gas tank(which is pretty much empty). Oh and at some point in the week I'd like to go by Waldenbooks and say hi to everyone. My old manager called me up before I worked yesterday and said how they missed me and I hadn't been by in a while. Made me feel special :D Oh so I feel like writing more I guess! Last night I saw fireworks in Atlanta. Fun experience, wouldn't have gone by myself though. Parking was hard to find but we managed to ninja it for free. It was Ryan, Jay, and I who went to see it. We tried getting into centenial olympic park but it was so crowdeed so we just went to the top of a parking guarge and it looked fine. When we managed to get back to the car(swear I was going the right way and people are crazy) we saw there was a dolly next to the ticket despenser so we moved it on top of the metal detector and got another ticket. Went to pay for the parking and she looked at the credit card I handed her and said "uh here". As we were driving off I screamed "YES!" and we started laughing so she /had/ to know something was up, oh well. Speaking of credit cards I recently got a new one from suntrust cuz there was a few accounts where the numbers might've been compermised so they canceled the old ones and sent out new ones. Well netflx had my old one, and I thought they would just give up after not getting money from me for 2 months(I wasn't using the service, didn't get a notice via snail or e-mail, and was too lazy to click "cancel account.") Long Story short: I'm -21.39 in my account. Whoops. Oh well. Last week I worked at the new Canton GameStop which was really nice. Slow store, and it was big. The ASM there was really nice too. And very Gay XD Twas nice. But sadly my mom got a "free food!" coupon from chick-fil-a right over there. Oooooh well. Annnnnd that's all for now. Seeya LJ Current Mood: good (Comment on this)
